Dr. Angel - not taking on new clients at this time

Dr. Angel is available for beginner to intermediate riding lessons. She is the owner of the farm and has been riding horses since she was 5 years old. She began her training in the English discipline (primarily jumping and dressage) and started riding and showing in Western Pleasure as a teenager. She then moved to Arizona for college and that was where her love for cutting and reining started.
Dr. Angel is available by appointment during the week and weekends. Lessons are $60 per session and last one hour (including grooming and tacking up. |
Alex Cantlay - not taking on new clients at this time
Alex Cantlay offers riding lessons at our farm 3 days per week on our western performance horses for experienced riders. We have horses suitable for every level of riding including those who want to learn how to ride a finished reining horse. Alex is also available to teach lessons on your horse in our arena. Lessons are $60 per hour and that fee is reduced to $45 per hour when you are leasing one of our horses or providing your own horse.
Alex has been working with and training with Sean Patrick for several years and has experience with numerous disciplines of horses. Her calm demeanor and approachable personality make her a favorite with our students.

Cassidy Melanson

Cassidy Melanson is a PATH-certified CTRI (Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor) who has been working with unique ability riders at Easterseals at Edgar’s Farm since the spring of 2023. She also works with private clients, focusing on building solid, safe foundational work for horses through the teachings of Sean Patrick Horsemanship. Cassidy apprenticed with Sean Patrick where she gained valuable experience with finished reining horses and assisted in starting young horses and restarting horses of all ages.
Cassidy began teaching riding lessons professionally at the age of 15 and has since worked with a wide range of riders, exploring disciplines such as western pleasure, hunter, jumper, gymkhana, drill team, and reining. Her diverse experience makes her a well-rounded instructor and horse trainer, dedicated to helping both horses and riders reach their full potential. Lessons are $60 per session and last approximately one hour. |
Jey Sosa - currently out of country
Jey Sosa offers riding lessons on our farm by appointment for youth and beginner riders. Jey was born in raised in Switzerland where her love for horses began. She later moved to Spain and taught riding lessons, offered hacks and rides for tourists and gave groundwork and natural horsemanship lessons. She also has experience training all types of horses including those who have suffered from trauma and abuse. Jey has the knowledge and willingness to help horse enthusiasts make their dream of riding horses a reality.

Shea

Shea is a 2001 Quarter Horse mare, but you would never be able to guess her age by looking at her or riding her! Dr. Angel has owned Shea since she was 4 years old. Shea is 15.1 hands and is virtually bombproof and has done countless hours of both arena and trail riding. She has smooth, comfortable gaits and can be ridden by anyone from beginners to advanced riders. To this day she is still one of Dr. Angel's favorite riding horses and a favorite amongst our students. She can handle students up to 160 pounds.

Drifter

Drifter is a 14.3 hands, 2011 quarter horse gelding who spent most of his life as a working ranch horse in Montana. He is a finished roping horse and is ready to complete any task you ask of him. Our students are currently teaching him the barrel pattern (he's one of the fastest horses we've ever met!). Dr. Angel purchased him from Turner Performance Horses. Chad Turner is known for producing some of the most well trained horses in the country and his horses often sell for over $100,000. Drifter a fun and extremely responsive horse to ride. He is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders. Drifter can handle students up to 150 pounds.

Black Jack

Black Jack is a 15.2 hands, solid built, 2013 quarter horse gelding and is a finished, money earning reining horse. Jack was originally trained by Matt Palmer, but found his way McKibben Performance Horse's program. There he also learned how to work cattle and be a ranch horse. Similar to the Turners, the McKibbens are also famous in the horse world for selling high end, family horses (they recently sold a horse to Ellen Degeneres and her wife Portia for $250,000 and Dr. Angel had the honor of riding that horse). Jack is a comfortable ride and good for intermediate to advanced riders. He can handle riders up to 180 pounds.

Rose

Captains Cat, aka Rose, is a daughter of Bet Hesacat off the 6666 ranch in Texas. She is a really fun horse to ride and is good in the arena and on trails. Rose is a finished rope horse and she knows the barrel pattern. She is very well trained and quiet natured. She was purchased a few years ago from the Ride the Wave Premier Horse in Ocala, Florida which is known for only selling the highest quality of horses. She is currently Dr. Angel's main riding horse.
